JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the Daycare Provider is to care and supervise children in a child daycare environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The duties of the Daycare Provider will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.
• Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times.
• Assist children with activities of daily life (i.e. diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing).
• Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren).
• Facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean, organized and safe for all children.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service.
• Implementing curriculum and planning daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.
• Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends.
• Assist with the completion of daily recordkeeping (i.e. daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping and diaper changing).
• Communicate with other staff and director regarding all aspects of the children’s care, as well as classroom management.
• Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the District at all times.
• Ability to make quick and responsible decisions.
• Models positive behavior for students (i.e. inter-personal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
• Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.
• Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
• Adhere to good safety practices.
• Ability to understand and adhere to all District rules, regulations and policies.
• All other duties as required or assigned.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Repeated movements to and from the floor
• Repeated turning/twisting motions with all joints and waist
• Repeated push/pull with fingers, hands, wrists, shoulders, elbows and back
• Be able to see, including close, distance and depth perception
• Ability to stand, walk, sit and talk/hear
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs
