JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the Daycare Provider is to care and supervise children in a child daycare environment.
REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Daycare Provider will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development.
- Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times.
- Assist children with activities of daily life (i.e. diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing).
- Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren).
- Facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Create and maintain an environment that is clean, organized and safe for all children.
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service.
- Implementing curriculum and planning daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children.
- Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends.
- Assist with the completion of daily recordkeeping (i.e. daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping and diaper changing).
- Communicate with other staff and director regarding all aspects of the children’s care, as well as classroom management.
- Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the District at all times.
- Ability to make quick and responsible decisions.
- Models positive behavior for students (i.e. inter-personal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.
- Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adhere to good safety practices.
- Ability to understand and adhere to all District rules, regulations and policies.
- All other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Repeated movements to and from the floor
- Repeated turning/twisting motions with all joints and waist
- Repeated push/pull with fingers, hands, wrists, shoulders, elbows and back
- Be able to see, including close, distance and depth perception
- Ability to stand, walk, sit and talk/hear
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs
