QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Pass background check
- General knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Computer experience; basic knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with students, staff and general public in a friendly, diplomatic and efficient manner. Answer the phone, direct and assist callers.
- Excellent written skills; ability to edit routine correspondence for spelling and grammar.
JOB SUMMARY
The Secretary will impact the educational process by providing a wide variety of support to the assigned administrator. He/she will convey information regarding building functions and procedures; ensure efficient operation of support functions and assist in coordinating assigned projects and site activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Occupational Therapist will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform work as secretary to the building Principal.
- Assist in enrollment of new students.
- Ensure student(s) are properly enrolled in the student information system; recording all required information.
- Greet all visitors to the building in a courteous manner; assess the nature of the visit, directing them appropriately.
- Maintain student and enrollment records.
- Maintain student attendance in the student information system.
- Research discrepancies in student attendance as needed (i.e. ensure the balancing of monthly and yearly reports, etc.).
- Answer phone and direct calls.
- Maintain various filing systems, such as: attendance records for students and staff, lunch records, enrollment records, policies and procedures.
- Sorts and distributes mail.
- Receives and delivers messages to students and staff.
- Procures supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items.
- Maintains inventory records for the building.
- Monitor and maintain operation and maintenance of office equipment (i.e. copiers, etc.).
- Process a wide variety of documents and materials (i.e. requisitions, purchase orders, travel reimbursements, time sheets, work orders, etc.).
- Model positive behavior for students (i.e. inter-personal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adheres to good safety practices.
- Ability to understand and adhere to all District rules, regulations and policies.
- All other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- stand, walk, sit and talk/hear;
- occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
- occasionally push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs; and
- be able to see, including close, distance and depth perception.
